Server Type: Pay to Win, Skyblock, SMP, Pixelmon, etc…
Avg Player Count: Unknown
Server IP: hub.mc-complex.com
I was trying to find good skyblock servers to review on server list sites, and every one of them said that Complex Gaming was the most popular. There was one problem. The three server lists I was checking each gave a different online player count than the other, ranging from 3000 – 7000. After checking the server website, it became clear that I had found myself a perfect example of a pay to win server to investigate.
When I added complex gaming to my server list, the shown player count was around 5000. Once I logged onto the server, my sidebar claimed that the server’s online player count was no more than 1600, a steep decrease from the previously shown count. And this is still excluding the fact that server admins can still tamper with the sidebar numbers as well, which is why I cannot confirm an average player count. Lying about a servers player count is a common practice among pay to win servers, but claiming that you server has 400% more players than it really has is just ridiculous.
When I looked around, I was surprised at how many different games there were, some of which include skyblock, SMP, prison, creative, factions, and Pixelmon. When I entered the skyblock lobby, I asked chat if they thought that the server was pay to win. Unsurprisingly, everyone who responded agreed. One person even said that all servers were pay to win which is just sad. Now, as a skyblock and SMP server, It’s a completely fine server, except that there are people with super high ranks and op items, when you are actually working to get stuff. If you are looking for a decent skyblock and SMP server, I think you you wouldn’t mind trying this server.

However, when I tried the factions server, the pay to win aspect really came into play. When I jumped into the arena, players with op ranks and items immediately killed me, leaving me itemless. Let me get this straight; I am not against players buying ranks and getting some items. It’s a great way for a server to help pay for its costs. But, when players are buying $250 ranks, and getting tons of op items to make the game less fun for players who want to play without pay, then that’s not ok.
In conclusion, If you don’t mind servers with an intense pay to win aspect, try Complex Gaming out. It’s not a bad server. It’s just very pay to win.
Please comment below if you have any suggestions for servers I should try reviewing in the future. Thanks for Reading!
